A-Line Skirts and Pearls

Although this skirt looks blue in the picture, I promise it’s black. πŸ˜€

Black T-Shirts are the best, ya’ll.

My skirt is from Abercrombie and Fitch, but it’s not available anymore. I love any a-line skirt though, and this one from TJ Maxx is especially cute.

Black Flats are essential to every wardrobe. πŸ™‚

A Short Pearl Necklace is perfect for this outfit – it accentuates the scoop neck of the t-shirt.

My Book of the Day is The Secret by Beverly Lewis. She’s probably one of the most well known Amish authors, and this book is amazing.

50’s A-Line and Brown Wedges

I went with a 50’s vibe today. πŸ™‚

The dress I have on isn’t available anymore, but here are some cute 50’s style options for you!

The Sleeveless Belted Shirt Dress from Cynthia Rowley is almost identical – except, as the name implies, it’s sleeveless.

This Linen Pinstripe Dress has the same adorable stripes, PLUS pockets. Bonus!

Another linen one – the Linen Shirt Dress from TJ Maxx has cute cuffed sleeves.

Franco Sarto wedges are a little on the expensive side – they range from $90-$140 when you get them directly from the company. I got mine from Marshalls for $40ish I think (it’s been a while). They’re super nice, so keep your eyes out for a pair at retailers like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Ross.

My Book of the Day isΒ  When Hearts are Light Again by Emilie Loring. I haven’t read it yet, my mom just bought it from a book sale. This copy is from 1945!

until next time. πŸ™‚

The Black T-Shirt Challenge

So I decided to try and create three completely different outfits from the base of one black t-shirt: vintage, hipster, and preppy. One black t-shirt, 3 different styles. Can she do it, you ask? Let’s find out! *cue drum roll*

Time for vintage!

This Floral Skirt is great for summer. (Link is to a similar skirt, slightly longer)

A Vintage Key Necklace adds an interesting touch to the outfit. (good interesting, not bad interesting ;))

Black Flats are like the black t-shirt – you can do almost anything to them.

Hipster…trying to be, anyway.

Pink Jeans are always fun!

Plaid is my favorite thing, honestly.

Black Flats…again.

Preppy! πŸ˜€

White Shorts are a summer must-have.

Lightweight Scarves are in this season – I definitely recommend grabbing a few for the spring!

Yellow Box Flip-flops are a warm-weather favorite of mine.

I had to take a separate picture of the hat because my book wouldn’t fit under it.

❀ my Lauren James Bow Hat!

Lace and Vintage Jewelry

Vintage jewelry is the best. My mom has a collection of it from her grandparents/great-grandparents, and I love to snag some every once in a while.

(ignore the hose in the background.) I am IN LOVE with this green and gold watch/pearl combo. vintage at its finest, people. ❀

This Lace Pullover Sweater is so beautiful. I love the intricate lace coming out of the soft pink.

Three cheers for Skinny Jeans!

Brown Ballet Flats are really versatile. I like them with jeans, skirs, dresses…pretty much anything.

My Book of the Day is Christy Miller by Robin Jones Gunn – these are one of my new favorite book series! Definitely check them out.
