Hi everybody! You’re probably tired of my excuses for not posting, but I’ve been sick for a while and haven’t really felt like taking pictures. I’m on the mend now, so hopefully I’ll be posting more. 🙂
I just received my second Ipsy bag, and I’m pretty happy with the contents!
First off, how cute is this bag? Love it wayyyyy more than last months.
Item #1 – Luxie Rose Gold Duo Fiber Brush. I’ve always loved rose gold, and it looks beautiful on this makeup brush! (Travel Size) Rating: 4/5 Get 20% off with the code IPSYTRAVEL.
Item #2 – Formula X Nail Polish in Huntress. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about this color (sort of a shimmery hunter green), but it actually looks really pretty on! I tried to get a picture, but I sort of smeared them – sorry about that. 😦 (Full Size) Rating: 4/5
Item #3 – Verb Ghost Oil. I’m obsessed….this stuff is AMAZING. It calmed down my frizzy hair without making it greasy, which is a feat that no hair product has accomplished before. (Sample Size) Rating: 5/5 Get 10% off with the code IPSY10.
Item #4 – Foil Eyes Eyeshadow Palette. These colors are super pigmented and go on very smoothly. It’s not a particularly high-end brand, but I’m pleased with the quality! (Sample Size) Rating: 4/5 Get 10% off with the code IPSY.
I was really pleased with this months bag! That being said, I’m actually planning on unsubscribing to try out another beauty service – Birchbox! I’ll keep you posted 🙂
❤ , Hannah
I just received my first Ipsy bag today! For those who haven’t heard of it, it’s a monthly subscription service that provides 4-5 beauty products in a cute makeup bag. I’ve been dying to try it for the longest time, and I finally signed up!
This is the Halloween bag, and I have to say, I’m a little disappointed. From what I’ve seen from other reviews though, my next bags should be cuter!
Item #1 – CabanaBoy Blush from theBalm cosmetics. The packing is a little off-putting to me, but I really like the blush! The color is a pretty matte rose. (Sample Size…reallyyyyyy tiny) Rating: 3/5
Item #2 – Face Primer from Trust Fund Beauty. I really like this! It made my skin nice and smooth for my foundation. (Sample Size) Rating: 4-5
Item #3 – Face Lotion from Promise Organic. This is probably my favorite out of the five items I received. It smells great, and it’s very light which is something I look for in a facial lotion. (Sample Size) Rating: 5/5
Item #4 – Eyeliner Pen from EssenceMakeup. True to its word, it does not smudge…to the extent of being hard to get off, even with makeup remover. However, it creates a smooth line and great wings. (Full Size) Rating 3/5
Item #4 – Eyeshadow Brush from Lottie London (not available for purchase online). This is my new favorite eyeshadow brush! It applies very smoothly and of course, it’s pink. 😉 (Full Size) 5/5
I really liked this months beauty bag! Can’t wait to see what comes next 🙂
(Mabel liked it too.)
I had a lot of time on my hands today, so I came up with this makeup tutorial for you guys! It’s a really unique retro eye and lip, and I hope you enjoy it.
Using a shimmery eye cream like this one, apply in even strokes with your finger. If you use a brush it will leave streaks.
Apply a thin line of Matte Black Automatic Eyeliner and extend the line a quarter of an inch past the eye to create a winged effect.
Tightline the bottom with the same eyeliner. (only follow 2nd half of instructions in link.)
Add mascara, and voila! 50’s retro eye makeup!
Red lips and curls are a must, of course. ❤
I’ve decided to start featuring hair and makeup as well as the “clothing” side of fashion. 🙂 Fashion is a combination of many things beauty-related, and hair and makeup are definitely apart of that category. This edition of 5 Minute Makeup is for a really easy natural eye – it’s my go-to in fact. Let’s get started!
This Ulta eyeshadow is my fav…the natural pallete from Maybelline has the same colors.
Eyeshadow Brushes are flat with a rounded tip. This ensures even coverage and makes it very easy to use.
For our first product on the eyelid, we’re going to mix these two shades together with the eyeshadow brush.
This creates a base for the rest of the eyeshadow and eyeliner we’re going to use in a moment.
Crease Brushes look like a circle when viewed from the top. These are for more fine-tuned eyeshadow work, primarily under the brow bone.
Focus mainly on covering the outside edge of the lid and underneath the brow bone.
I love this eyeliner from Ulta…it goes on very smooth and the color doesn’t run. The one I’m using is in the Black Brown shade.
Make sure you get as close to eyelashes as you possibly can, otherwise there will be a gap and it will look like you have two eyebrows. 😉
THE BEST mascara, no question about it. So amazing.
There is the finished product! I hope you guys enjoyed this, because there will be more coming your way soon. 🙂
